Even though most teens spend much of their time on their phones and computers these days, some students here at DCC still like to open a real book and read. When we asked a few of our readers why they like to read,  a few said because it is fun and relaxing. Another person said it was because they were able to be transported into another world and go on adventures with characters you would otherwise not experience.

A few students also gave some suggestions for anyone else who likes to read. Bryce Micknis, a sophomore, suggested books like the Inheritance Series, the Left Behind Series, and the Pendragon Series.  Elizabeth Williams, a freshman, suggested Harry Potter, The Fault in Our Stars, and The Hunger Games.  Katie Jordan, a sophomore, recommends the Ember in the Ashes Series, while Lillian Lee, a junior loves the Thorne of Glass.

Some readers also gave a tip for any nonreader. They said that its not that you don’t like to read you just haven’t found the kind of book you are interested in. A good way to find a good book is to look at the types of movies you like to watch. For example, if you like history documentaries there are so many books out there about historical events and people.
