The annual Diocesan spelling bee was held on Thursday, May 3rd at St. Mark Catholic Center in Erie. Fourteen students grades 4-6 competed in the spelling bee and took on challenging words such as, “physical” and “rhythmic.” The winning spelling word, which was quite appropriate, was “applaud.” DCC’s very own Melia Mitskavich took fourth place in the competition. Third place went to Morgan Sigler of St. James Parish, Erie, while Anthony Phillips of St. Patrick School, Franklin, came in second. First place winner went to Emily Wisneski of SS. Cosmas & Damian School in Punxsutawney.

We are Cardinal Proud of You, Melia!!
