On Tuesday, February 5th DCC students, fans, and media gathered at Curwensville area High school to watch history be made. Senior Justin Miknis has been helping lead the Cardinals since being a varsity starter his freshman year. Last year in Brookville Justin reached the phenomenal mile stone of becoming a 1,000 point scorer that many try to achieve.

Justin needed just 8 points going into Tuesday’s game to break the all time scoring record of 1,412 originally held by 2011 graduate and assistant coach Chris Marshall. Justin scored 7 points by the midway point of the second quarter only to be fouled and given the chance to beat the record on a foul shot.

At last after eight years standing, the record had been broken. Justin scored 20 points on the night racking his record breaking tally to 1425 points, with two games left in the regular season Justin looks to push the record further as he hopes to help his team win out in the regular season and playoffs.

Congratulations to Justin on this great milestone he has achieved in his high school career.

DCC beat Curwensville 78-52 and are back in action Saturday, February 9th at Johnsonburg.
