On Saturday, May 4 both DCC softball and baseball competed against cross town rivals DuBois Area High school in a competition which has become known as the “DuBois City Classic”. Both games that took place were thrillers, one more than the other. The DCC softball and baseball teams ended the night with one win each, completely sweeping DAHS in this once a year event. For a whole year DCC will reign as the champions of the city of DuBois in both softball and baseball.

The DuBois City Classic softball game was off to a great start for the Lady Cardinals after scoring 6 runs in the first inning and holding DAHS to just 1. The rest of the game went steady for the Cardinals as they won 10-6 to gain the city title, and make amends for the game they had just barely lost the previous year.

While the softball game was full of runs and excitement from start to finish the baseball game had a much different outcome. The game ended just 1-0 in favor of DCC after a double by senior Garrett Prosper brought in fellow senior Noah Bloom for the singular run of the game. Both teams traded hit for hit, and out for out for the rest of the game as DCC become victorious winning yet again.
