DCC Middle School Students Participate in Civil War Day – Photos

DuBois Central Catholic’s 10th annual Civil War Workshop took place this Friday, May 10th. According to organizers Tara Kramer, DCC middle school teacher, and Sharon Aaron, a re-enactor and former DCC teacher, the goal is making the Civil War Day an authentic experience for the students in grades 6 through 8 to remember this historical event in American history.

Seven learning centers were available for students to see artifacts and hear about life during the Civil War. Some of the centers included Life of a Civil War Refugee, Cooking & Rations, Medical History of the Times, Army Drills, and Metal Works with BCAT artisans Melissa Lovingood and Holly Roddenbery.
