Brockway Center for Arts and Technology better know as BCAT, has a mission to inspire through the arts – both individually and through the community. They also strive to introduce the world of art to children. Their latest project here at DuBois Central Catholic has been Noah’s Ark Garden Project. Noah’s Ark is a large classroom that contains learning centers for different types of curriculum. The structure was built by Amish contractors, the wooden animals were done by Dawna Cerini of T&D, and it was all designed by BCAT artists trained in interactive learning.

While Noah’s Ark is very big, it contains small but important details that improve students’ learning. Some of these things are a peace bench,  a large playable xylophone, a reading and game nook, a music area that contains instruments with English and Spanish words on them, an interactive rainbow and so much more. BCAT believes that environments shape behavior. “we need beautiful art and environments and to honor the dignity of people . . . to have wonderful human beings”. The dedication ceremony took place on May 15th, and even included a dove release like in the story of Noah.
