Mrs. Gankosky’s 10th grade Spanish classes have been making pinatas, mostly in celebration of Cinco De Mayo but also to show off their work in the Festival of the Arts. Each student or group of students have been working hard to create their unique piñatas.

To make a piñata you first have to paper mache a balloon, then let it dry, layer it, and finally cover it in tissue paper to create whatever design you would like. For example some students have made avocado’s, pineapples, hot air balloons, pokeball, baseball, and one student even make Kirby.

See them on display at the DCC Festival of the Arts this Sunday, May 19 at 1PM
