For many years, Mrs. Chollock’s love of plants and nature has spilled over into a project that helps ensure many graves in the area have a flower planted for Memorial Day.  People over the years have contacted her for this service because they live far away or can no longer physically do the planting.  For a donation, a geranium is planted on the grave usually the Saturday before the holiday.

This year students headed to the cemetery on Thursday to stake the graves that needed to be planted.  Making it easier for the planters to find them.  Some graves are planted each year and are therefore easy to find.  Some are a bit of a scavenger hunt.

Then on Saturday morning at 8 AM, Mrs. C. met with a group of students, parents, and friends of the school who helped to do the planting.  This little known tradition is a way that DCC serves the greater community.

Happy Memorial Day!
