Mrs. Gressler’s classes do “Stranger Things” themed Breakout Box

Mrs. Gressler always finds creative activities to make her classes entertaining. Last week, her science classes participated in Halloween fun by doing breakout boxes that were themed as the popular television series, Stranger Things.

The breakout boxes were similar to escape rooms so it was a way to bring the challenge of an escape room to the classroom. Students had to “break-in” to the box to help save Will, a character from Stranger Things, from the Upside Down. The Upside Down is a separate dimension that exists in correspondence to the human world.

Similar to escape rooms, the breakout boxes were an excellent way for the students to develop their critical thinking and teamwork skills. It also allowed them to tune into their creativity.
