Mrs. Stringers 8th Grade Classes Witness Virtual Reality

Mrs. Stringer’s 8th-grade science classes are doing a unit on erosion and weathering. To go along with this topic, they added Nearpod Virtual Reality Goggles into the classroom to make it more exciting. They took a virtual field trip to the Grand Canyon where they observed the beauty and enormity of the canyon that was carved by the Colorado River. They also discussed how the tributaries help to carve out the side canyons. This took a different approach to learning about the topic of erosion and weathering as it was like the students were actually there in the Grand Canyon. This allowed them to learn a lot more than they would have without the VR Goggles.
