DCC Rotary Interact Club Purchases Gifts for Kids in Need

Jaci Mennetti, Staff Writer

Rotary Interact Club is a group which is all about giving back to our community. This year the students bought gifts for kids in our area who are less fortunate and who would benefit from Rotary buying them the things they needed. This included shoes, winter coats, and toys.

Previous to Thanksgiving break, several members of Rotary and some teachers baked items for the bake sale. All proceeds made from the bake sale went towards purchasing presents for the kids in need. Rotary was satisfied with the outcome of the bake sale as it ended up selling out even though there were so many items to be sold. Following the bake sale, DCC had a dress down day for every student who brought in $2. This money also went towards buying the gifts for the kids.

Rotary ended up raising well over a thousand dollars and then went shopping for all of the items needed.
