St. Marys hosted a quadrangular meet on an overcast, cooler afternoon that brought together a pair of schools from both Northern & Southern Tier regions of District Nine.

Highlighting the day for DuBois Central Catholic was the winning middle school boys race by Trent Labenne(12:54) taking first place over all schools. Labenne made his move to lead at the one mile marker and overtook Connor Thompson of DuBois, finishing a solid 20 seconds ahead at the finish of the 1.8 mile run.

Addison Smith(15:43) grabbed a first against St. Marys in the middle school girls race along with a 2nd versus Kane and a third against DuBois.

All varsity runners established personal records for the course including Angelo Piccirillo(21:23) who scored a 3rd place with Kane. Eva Bloom(30:55) scored a 2nd against Kane for the Lady Cards, while Katelyn Smith(33:34) came in 5th against the Wolves.

In the team scoring it was DuBois sweeping all competition with Morgan Roemer wining the girls race, and A.C. Deemer taking first for the boys.

The DCC record in a boys race at St. Marys is held by Ed Pisarchick(17:40) in 1984, while Meghan Graeca’s 22:10 in 2016 is the fastest for any Lady Cardinal.

The Cardinals travel to Ridgeway on Tuesday to try out the famous District Nine Championship` course for a dual meet.
