More favorable cooler weather greeted the Cardinal runners, and they all took full advantage by setting personal course records at the Annual Ridgway Invitational on Saturday.

Leading the way for DCC with a huge improvement was Katelyn Smith(31:31) as she cut 7 minutes from her previous run on this course from September. Smith surpasses Colleen Pease’s time from 2008, moving up 5 spots on the all-time performance charts since 1978 for DCC.

All other racers achieved better times as well.

In the varsity boys contest it was Angelo Piccirillo(20:43) hitting one of the best marks of his career for 59th place.

Both middle school runners also ran personal records. Addison Smith(13:34) and Elle Osterman(15:36) each shaved off 2 minutes for 30th and 48th place respectively.

For the first time in history DuBois Area won both girls and boys team titles, as well as claiming the first Lady Beaver individual champion. Morgan Roemer(19:40) not only took first place but also set the all-time DHS record time on the course which was previously held by Samantha Thompson of the 2008 season.  For the DHS boys it was AC Deemer(17:19) who led the way with a third place.

The Cardinals are back in action on Tuesday for their final dual meet at the DuBois Area course.
