SMITH, PICCIRILLO HAVE CAREER-BEST RUNS

LABENNE, SMITH SCORE FIRSTS

It was a night of personal and career records for 3 District Nine teams in the final dual contest at the DuBois home course. While the mighty DHS teams both set course records, the DCC runners also had their share of marks for the history books.

Angelo Piccirillo(19:21) achieved the fastest time of his career over the hilly, twisting terrain behind the public school, earning him a spot on the top 3 all-time charts for DCC at this course,- behind only Johnny Ritsick and JP Piccirillo from the past two seasons. Piccirillo moved past the now #4 spot  owned by Brenden Paisley from last year, and allowed him to score against ECC and move to the 7th place against DuBois.

Lady Cardinal Katelyn Smith(30:45) also finished her dual season with a career performance, taking 6 minutes off her previous record here and moving her to the Top 10 listings at #8 overall, passing Alex Och’s place from 2019.  Teammate Eva Bloom(29:44) scored a 4th place against ECC with a personal record on the course.

In the Middle School race both Addison Smith(17:14) and Trent LaBenne(13:32) added to their season wins record. Smith’s run was a PR on the course and was first versus ECC and 5th against DuBois. LaBenne was first over his DuBois opponent, and third against ECC, just missing first overall by 20 seconds. Elle Osterman(19:08) also established her personal record as she came in 2nd in the ECC contest.

The Cardinal program ends it’s regular season at the Rocky Grove Invitational in Oil City on Saturday.
