DCC Sixth Graders Learn Sewing Techniques in Life Skills Class

Mrs. Rita Smith provided a fun and educational activity for her students today.  As the sixth graders crafted cute little gnomes, they learned the basics of stitching fabric and sewing on a button.  The students were focused as they tried to sew and after a bit of time and individual attention from their teacher, they were pleased with their finished products.  Sewing is a lost art for many young people today, but a great skill to have.  Mrs. Smith’s Life Skills class is always full of energy and enthusiasm for the lessons they learn.
